JDM INSIDER: The Kanto Tuners
The newest chapter in the highly popular JDM INSIDER series is here!

JDM INSIDER: Kanto Tuners
JDM INSIDER is now on a whole new level! Toshi and the new power packed JDM INSIDER crew take you deep into the Kanto area tuning world. Here you’ll meet people such as the president of the Ogura Clutch empire, Mr. Ogura himself!!! Then Toshi will show you how badly an amateur like himself loses to a pro racer at the ORC Kartland! Come spend a day at Mobara Twin Circuit with “Smokey” Nagata from Top Secret and Pro Drifter Youichi Imamura while they test and tune their Skyline powered ORC Z33 !! Party with TS Company’s Mr. Yazaki as he takes us to his secret private touge deep in the mountains of Izu! Revisit some JDM INSIDER regulars when we drop by our old friend Takahiro Ueno at T&E/ Suivax. Rock the Kanto touges with Takahashi’s insane 500HP Chaser and Daisuke’s S14. You know we roll deep when Ueno volunteers to be our camera car!! Then it’s time to get schooled by Eiji and Allen of Tomei Powered, manufacturers of insane engine parts. We’ll also take you to Pro racer Manabu Orido’s new bar/restaurant “559” and the REAL location of Mt Akina in the Initial D comics. Also be sure to check out the expanded humorous skits and partying that makes JDM INSIDER so unique!

Some of our boys from JDM INSIDER will be representin’ at HIN Seattle this weekend. One of our directors PHIL will be out there in full force so hit him up if you get a chance.

Hope to see you all there!

We just wanted everyone to know that we’re almost done finishing up the final copy of Mogi’s Escape.  So I’d say we’re just at about 90~95% done.   Problem is, one of the main Stage 10 computers took a crap and died on us this past week, so Toshi’s been swamped with trying to transfer everything over from his old PC to a new Mac that he just picked up.

Anyhow, we’ll be keeping you all posted as to the status of Mogi’s Escape.  We’re getting closer and closer everyday.  You know what that means, right?  You’re less than a month away from the crazy antics of the JDM Insider Crew as they blast through more of Japan’s finest.  We know that it will definitely be well worth the wait.

Also, in other news, we should have the blogs and forum section up within the next couple of weeks as well, so that you all can tell us first hand what’s on your mind “forum style”.  Also, in the meantime, check out our Myspace page and help us spread the JDM Insider Love.

Stay Tuned for more soon.

JDM INSIDER 5 (code named Mogi’s Escape) is now 60% complete.

The JDM INSIDER team recently took the trip to San Francisco where they finalized the creative direction of the latest edition in the popular series. Filming quality is improved, music selection is more diverse, and content is more developed. Now, the post production process will go into the final translation, subtitle, and refinement process.

The JDM INSIDER team hopes to have this volume released in a about a month.

Thanks for your patience. We think it’ll be worth the wait.

Be sure to check out Antonio Alvendia’s review of Tokyo Drift on Urban Racer!!

Antonio has been around for awhile and has really put in his time. He is a purist and will also be helping us out here at JDM INSIDER in the future. He is a dedicated journalist for the drift scene, knows alot of drivers, takes his own trips to Japanese race spots and just authored a drifting book!

Find out what he thought of the film!

Be sure to check out Part 2 of Toshi’s interview on IGN.

http://cars.ign.com/articles/714/714499p1.html

This part focuses on his involvement with the movie FF3: Tokyo Drift. Did he keep it real? What was his motive? How did our beloved JDM Insider host find himself on one of the most loathed car franchise production teams.

Do you think his involvement changed anything?

Find out for yourself.

It’s on the front page of IGN’s car site.
